The story
From one café in Bulacan to a coffee franchise brand
Venchito Tampon Jr. opened Hills and Valleys Cafe in 2022 in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. The idea was simple: serve premium coffee at a price ordinary Filipinos can afford, in a space they actually want to stay in.
The tagline came first – “You coffee through ups and downs.” Everything else followed from it. The Vietnamese Latte and Spanish Latte that became best-sellers. The Frosted Hills® blended line. The store design built around lighting, seating and the kind of corner where a student can finish a paper or a couple can talk for an hour.
Once the café worked, the question changed. Not “how do we open more branches?” but “how do we let other people open one?” That is where the franchise started. Today Hills and Valleys Coffee awards territories across the Philippines, with branches in Bulacan and Davao, and packages that start at ₱495,000 with the espresso machine, training and initial supplies already inside.
Venchito still runs the franchisor side personally – site evaluation, franchisee screening, and the orientation call where the full cost sheet gets handed over before anyone pays a peso.

A Philippine-based rapid eLearning company that turns raw training content into SCORM-ready, accessible courses in weeks. The same discipline shapes the Hills and Valleys operations manual and barista modules, so a new franchisee is not left guessing.
What This Means for a Franchisee
Most coffee franchisors are operators first. Venchito came into coffee already carrying two things most first-time franchisees need and rarely get: a training system that works on people with zero experience, and a marketing team that knows how to fill a new store in its first week.
That is why the packages are built the way they are. Training is not a one-day walkthrough. Launch is not a soft opening. Site approval is not a rubber stamp – a bad location sinks a café faster than a bad menu, so every proposed site gets evaluated for foot traffic, visibility, rent share and nearby competition before a territory is awarded.
No prior business experience is required. What is required is availability during the first few months and a willingness to run the system as designed.
